Austrian Death Machine live I wear shoes with wide width and really very hard to find this size in most stores I walked into. I avoided buying online as I prefer to see, feel and check out all colors. I have little choice since my old boots broke after 10 years and desparately needed a new pair.This pair of Clarks boots, is true to its size and EXTREMELY comfortable. It fits even better than my old boots. The leather and workmanship is of good quality. I am not too keen with the design but it is not too bad either. The first day I wore was after rain with wet ground. The grip of the soles is very solid, not a slightest slippage walking on stairs and slopes. The only thing I don't like is that the boots are 1" taller than other ankle boots. They are also rather loose around my ankles. For this height it is unlikely I will stuff my jeans into the boots, so it not neccessary to be that loose.
I buy Ralph Lauren products because of their quality; however, I wore these shoes once, and the glued-in insole in the left shoe came unglued and ended up stuck to my foot (I was on vacation and away from the hotel, so I had no choice but to keep walking, so it only got worse). It's a small issue, but it felt like there was gum inside the shoe every time I took a step. It drove me nuts I returned them, and I'm buying a different pair from Brooks Brothers. I gave the pair 2 stars because they actually looked great and the shoe on the right foot felt fine. Maybe you'll have better luck than me.
